All in all, it's been a good day...

Well, the day went kind of crazy, but it ended well.  Everyone is just hanging out, and we didn't have any major meltdowns.  Also, we got school finished!  We don't even have much to do tomorrow, just some reading and science!  Yay us!

Tomorrow is going to be a full, fun day.  We are having a group of fellow homeschoolers and some other friends over for a fall party.  Pumpkin painting, baking apple crisp, and playing outside.  Good times.  We are planning on doing this kind of get together once a month, and are really looking forward to it.  It's nice for the kids to see they aren't the only ones homeschooling, and that they can still hang out with other kids, even when they're not in public school.

Since this blog is about my family, especially my kids, quite a lot of it will be about our adventures in homeschooling.  I am planning on posting informal reviews of the books we are reading for school, and hopefully this weekend I will post something about our curriculum.  Until then, if you are interested in seeing what we use, check out Sonlight Curriculum.  We are using the 4-day Core 3, with 5-day science.  We also use Horizons 3 for math, and Handwriting Without Tears Cursive.  We really, really love Sonlight.  Last year was our first year using them, and unless something drastically changes, we will continue with them.

Well, I'm off to clean house before our big day tomorrow.  I feel really blessed to have my wonderful family, and I hope you enjoy reading about our adventures.  Have a good night.  Or day.  Depending on where you are.
